The purpose of the bill is “[t]o amend the Education Amendments of 1972 to provide that for purposes of determining compliance with title IX of such Act in athletics, sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.”

Dear [Senator]:
I am your constituent and a lifelong Democrat. I am writing to urge you in the strongest possible terms to vote YES on S. 9, the ”Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025,” to secure the opportunity for safe and fair sports for girls and women that Title IX was enacted to guarantee.
Safe and fair athletic competition for girls and women was the clear goal of Title IX. That goal has been severely undermined. To date, almost 6,000 top three finishes in female sport have been won by boys and men who were allowed entry into the female category. https://www.hecheated.org/totals_results_2020s Additionally, girls and women are being robbed of the dignity and privacy that female-only locker rooms provide. Forcing female athletes to share locker rooms with males is an egregious infringement on their personal privacy.
Allowing males to participate in female-only sports is unsafe, unfair, and wrong. Accordingly, I implore you to vote yes on S. 9.
