Last week, we all got an early Christmas gift when Nicki Minaj spectacularly criticized Gavin Newsom for supporting the unevidenced medicalization of confused children. She has since been interacting with the work of prominent sex realists, including reposting a video of Erin Friday confronting Gavin Newsom on child medicalization and following Gays Against Groomers on X. She has seen an increased interest in her discography after making these remarks.
If you have friends who are confused by this development, who don’t understand that “gender-affirming care” is a repackaged form of gay conversion therapy that has also caused harm to young people from other vulnerable backgrounds, perhaps they might find this new interview with an ex-trans gay man enlightening.
Another early gift came out of Florida, where Attorney General James Uthmeier filed a lawsuit against World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for deceptive trade practices, marketing and offering “gender-affirming” procedures with no proof they had any benefit.
If you’re looking to support efforts to keep children from being shuttled down this dangerous, irreversible pathway, consider donating to Protect Kids Colorado this holiday season. They’re leading a ballot initiative to advance three measures in their state, which historically has one of the worst track records on enabling gender-motivated child abuse.
Overseas, some decisions made by the judge in Sandie Peggie’s employment tribunal have been widely criticized by British sex realists, including a selective misquoting of the Supreme Court judgment clarifying that the word “woman” referred exclusively to sex and not self-identity earlier this year. After Peggie’s victory, the NHS postponed the disciplinary hearing of a second nurse, Jennifer Melle, who was called a “n****” b a male pedophile after she refused to pretend he was a woman. Children there, as here, have also been illegally obtaining drugs marketed to modify their sex characteristics against the wishes of their parents.
Another Title IX complaint was filed against public school systems that allow boys to compete in girls’ sports, this time in Michigan. (Note that many headlines stress that the male athlete is “transgender.” This is not the material argument. The “gender identity” of the individual involved is irrelevant. Only their sex is relevant for determining whether they play in a male or female athletic category.) While this is going on internationally, a “non-binary” teacher restricted the class placement of a 5th grader based on the perceived political beliefs of the child’s parents.
In other breaking news, the thing we’ve been instructed to believe never happens—sexual predators targeting women and girls in mixed-sex changing rooms—just keeps happening. Yes, independent of the “gender identity” of the predators.
