The American Society of Plastic Surgeons released a position statement last week acknowledging that in light of high-quality systematic reviews revealing low certainty of evidence in this area, they do not recommend performing “gender-affirming” surgeries on patients 18 and under. Shortly after, the American Medical Association released a statement to National Review agreeing that the evidence of benefit was weak. Even the incoming president of WPATH and the ACLU’s leading “trans” litigator have admitted that “gender-affirming” surgeries in children do not prevent suicides, prompting criticism from advocates who pointed out that suicide threats are a common manipulation tactic used to goad parents into agreeing to these surgeries.

But if there’s weak evidence, how did these procedures become so widespread? This email exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and Robert Trivers gives insight into what kind of people want to “trans” children as young as three and why. Moreover, polling suggests 90% of Republicans and 54% of Democrats oppose giving puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones to minors, showing bipartisan support for efforts to stop the practice.

A new recent systematic review attempted to measure the impact of exogenous testosterone on women who took it to affirm a “gender identity.” Women who took testosterone often reported pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, genital pain during sexual activity, and bacterial vaginosis due to changing microflora distribution in the vagina. The authors report a lack of long-term studies. Moreover, many women thought testosterone prevented pregnancy, when women taking testosterone can still ovulate and conceive.

In sports, a recent study claimed the physical fitness of women and men claiming womanhood is comparable, over short study length, with a lack of evidence available on elite athletes, and with a “variable” body of evidence quality per their own assessment. Critics of the study point out these measurements do not apply to elite sports performance. The conclusions also only apply to men who have suppressed their testosterone or taken estrogen for 1–3 years, when the widely adapted standard for “womanhood” adopted by this ideology begins and ends at “the man says he feels like a woman,” and does not require hormone therapy.

Also in sports, a teenage girl was matched with a boy in a wrestling competition who allegedly pushed his fingers into her vagina during a match. At the school the boy attends, Emerald Ridge High School in Washington, he is not the only boy on the girls’ wrestling team, and he regularly uses the girls’ locker rooms.

Across the pond, the UK Government gave a weak response to the petition with over 140,000 signatures asking them to stop the puberty blocker trial before the practice causes irreversible harm to even more children. The campaigners who put the petition together launched legal proceedings in the High Court challenging the ethical approval process.

It’s been a rough week for The New York Times. After waiting almost a full week to report on the first detransition lawsuit to go to trial winning $2 million, The New York Times also had to acknowledge that the AMA and ASPS breaking rank means that no, now not every major medical organization backs “gender-affirming” surgery for minors. Lastly, while they put out a headline saying Imane Khelif was “willing to undergo sex testing,” Reduxx Magazine broke the real story about Khelif confirming he has an Y chromosome with a fully functional SRY gene. The linked article also includes a helpful timeline of all the leaked medical reports released since 2023 confirming that Khelif is male.

Keep in mind that Khelif is male when you read articles referring to Khelif using wrong-sex pronouns, such as this one.

Lastly, Glenna Goldis, a local lesbian lawyer who was fired from Letitia James’ office for sounding the alarm on “gender-affirming care” as a public health crisis rooted in misinformation, has been hired by the FTC to spearhead their investigations into pediatric gender medicine as consumer fraud. We can think of no one more qualified to bring down this corrupt, harmful system, and wish Glenna Goldis the best of luck in her new role!
